Capitol Vs. The Arena
The Captiol of Panem and the Arena of the 75th annual Hunger Games are easy to find differences in. In the arena, you are there with 23 other people who want to kill you. There is only one winner, one person that survives. They must fight each other to the death. As for the Captiol, everyone is fine and dandy. No one wants to kill each other, and the majority of the people are happy and wealthy. Another difference between the two is the environment. In the arena, it's jungle, beach, and water. The Capitol on the other hand is full of tall buildings and expensive shops. The few people that are actually in the arena are dressed in jumpsuit type things, and their body features are mostly normal. You cannot trust anyone in the arena, because, eventually, either you or them will die. The Capitol is completely different. It is a crowded place with many peculiar, odd-looking people. Some features that you would find on the Capitol people that are not found anywhere else are things like cat whiskers, tinted green skin, full body tattoos, all of the fancy hairdos, body piercings, etc. The people in the Capitol are pretty self absorbed and conceited, but they don't want to kill each other. As you can see, the two settings have many differences, but there are a few connections and similarities between the two. For one thing, the Capitol created the Arena. This is just my opinion, but to have people that live the way they do in the Capitol creat such a harsh environment for others is pretty sad. Another similarity if you are in Katniss's perspective is the fact that both places have unfamiliar, strange things contained. Although these specific things are different, the concept in general are similar. Both the Arena and the Capitol are places the Katniss Everdeen is not familiar with.
